A Denplan payment plan is tailored to you; there is no reason to pay for work you don’t need. Your dentist projects what treatments you are likely to need, the treatment costs are set out and you pay a monthly fee to cover the work.
On the first visit we will examine your teeth to make sure you’re dentally fit, discuss the findings with you, set a bespoke monthly price and agree the contract.
As soon as you receive your welcome pack, you’ll be able to receive treatment.

At your check up we will
- Check your jaw joints
- Look at your occlusion (bite)
- Assess you for infections, including your tongue and gums
- Check you for oral cancer by feeling for lumps in the jaw, neck and throat
- Record measurements of your gums to assess for gum disease
- Examine your teeth for caries (cavities/tooth decay)
- Offer tailored oral health advice
Denplan Essentials
- Dental check-ups
- Dental hygiene visits (this could be with the hygienist or dentist)
- Dental x-rays
- Preventive dental advice and therapy
- 10% discount on private treatment fees
Denplan Care*
- Dental check-ups (as clinically necessary)
- Dental hygiene visits (as clinically necessary)
- Dental x-rays
- Necessary fillings
- Necessary extractions
- Periodontal treatment (restrictions apply)
- Preventive dental advice and therapy
- Crowns, dentures and bridgework (excluding lab fees)
- Root canal treatment (unless specialist referral required)

The differences between Dental Essentials and Dental Care plans
Anybody can join the Dental Essentials plan; it covers the essentials of check-ups, hygiene, advice and X-rays. However, you have to pay for any treatment that you require (although you receive a 10% discount on all private treatment fees through the plan).
To join the Denplan Care you have to be deemed “dentally fit” (determined at an initial examination) or only join after any necessary treatment has been completed privately first. This is to ensure that you don’t have any pre-existing conditions which – like most insurances – the Denplan Care plan cannot cover. The monthly fee you pay is based on your current oral health and hence likely need for support going forward. Once you are on Denplan Care, you would not need to pay for any necessary treatment* that you may need, it would be included in your monthly fee.
